FAQ
Got Questions About Zoom Private Lessons?
It’s really simple! You just pick a date and time that is convenient for you and reserve you appointment time online. As soon as you book your lesson time, you will get an email confirmation with your private Zoom Meetings link. At your lesson time, simply click the link in the email to get started!
Just like an in person private lesson, you will have 100% of your instructor’s attention. You can see and hear us. We can see and hear you. You will even have the ability to record every moment of your lessons to review later!
In many ways, an online private lesson works exacty the same way as if you drove into a dance studio in person.
In other ways, there are some very distinct advantages to online private lessons that you could never match in person!
You will be able to get a full recording of every moment of every lesson to keep forever. One of the biggest challenges with in person lessons is retaining/remembering the material covered. With online private lessons, this problem is finally solved forever.
Another cool feature of online private lessons is the “Instant Replay” feature. Similar to a football/basketball game, your instructor will be able to watch you dance and then immediately play it back to you to SHOW you what they are addressing. You can see what we see!
If you have a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer and internet access, you are probably ready to go!
Private lessons are done via a free download of the Zoom Meetings app and will use your normal camera and microphone.
Many students even connect their device to their TV. We would be happy to help walk you through how to do that.
You can take a private lesson from wherever you are! At home, at work, at the gym … indoors, outdoors… on vacation.
Typically, a normal size living room is plenty of enough space. Your instructor can help you set up you device’s camera at the right angle to allow them a good viewing angle.
Certainly, partner dancing is better with a partner.
We can, however, still make it work without a regular partner. Many students will send their instructor a video of their dancing with various partners so that our instructor can review it along with you in real time.
Everyone is a little different. Students have different schedules, goals, experience levels, and rate of learning.
We suggest beginning with the introductory private lesson for only $15. Then you instructor can spend some time getting to know you and can show you several different paths you could go after the intro lesson.
