The West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is a versatile dance that works well in all sorts of dance clubs, and you can dance to almost any music that follows a 4/4 beat. That’s why a lot of people like it, and you will also see it often at country dancehalls.

In West Coast Swing, dancers stick to a special imaginary space called a “slot.” It’s like a narrow rectangle on the dance floor. The leader guides the follower back and forth inside this slot. The leader only steps out of the slot to guide the follower to the other side of the slot.

If you've tried West Coast Swing and felt it was too tricky, it's not your fault. With the right approach, it can be pretty easy to learn.
